Is it necessary to decide the wedding venue before shopping for my bridal gown?
We always advise that your dress should complement the venue and the theme of the wedding so we recommend you set the venue and date first.
How should I start the process of shopping for my bridal gown?
You should do a little background research by browsing magazines, the web and the use of social media like Pinterest. This will give you an idea of what you like and what you don’t like. You should then visit bridal stores to try on dresses and understand your body type and what silhouette best suits it with the help of our bridal consultants.

When should I expect a confirmation for my appointment if I book my consultation online or through email?
You should expect a confirmation within 24 Hours from the time we receive your appointment request
CONSULTATION
How long is my initial consultation?
Your consultation will be an hour and a half long.
What should I expect during my consultation?
You will have an initial consultation with one of our bridal consultants to understand your needs and wants and of course try on bridal gowns
What should I expect from my bridal consultant?
Your consultant will focus on your preferences and identify your body type and which silhouettes best suits it. They will also suggest gowns that you didn’t necessarily choose. They will also advise you on the different accessories that you will need on the big day.
How many gowns can I try during my consultation?
You can try up to 10 gowns during your consultation.
How many people should I bring with me on my consultation?
Bringing more than two people can confuse you and take the focus off you. Therefore, we suggest you bring two people who their opinion matter to you the most.
PURCHASING MY BRIDAL GOWN
How far in advance should I decide on my wedding gown?
We recommend you decide your gown at least 8 months prior to your wedding.
Why is it necessary to decide on my wedding gown so early?
If you want to order a brand new gown from one of ours designers, they will need 4 – 6 months to deliver the gown to us. Once The Bridal Atelier receives the gown, it takes at least a month for alteration.
What are the different ways to purchase a gown from your store?
You can either purchase the bridal gown off the rack or by order.
If I order my dress, how long does it take to receive it?
Your order will take 4-6 month depending on the designer.
Is there an additional cost if I want to order a dress?
There is no additional cost for ordering the dress. However, if the dress is on sale and you want to purchase a brand new one from the designer, the dress will be sold at full cost.

What other products do you sell at The Bridal Atelier other than bridal gowns?
Apart from bridal gowns, we have a wide range of boleros, veils, headpieces, belts, garters and cap sleeves.
ALTERATION
Is the alteration free of charge?
For re-sizing and hemming the length of the gown, the alteration is free of charge. However, there will be additional charges, if any changes need to be done to the design of the gown i.e. changing the neckline, adding sleeves etc.
Do you customize veils and boleros?
Yes we do.
When should I come in for my first fitting?
You should come in at least one month before your wedding.
When should I book my appointment for the second fitting?
You should come two weeks before the wedding.
What should I bring to my first fitting?
We would recommend to have the shoes you will be wearing on your wedding day, the right undergarments as well as the underskirt if you decide to wear one.
SHOPPING FOR THE FINAL LOOK
When should I start shopping for accessories, veils and shoes?
You should start shopping for your accessories and veil right after you decide on your gown.
COLLECTING YOUR BRIDAL GOWN
When should I pick my wedding gown from the store?
You should pick your gown from the store a week before your wedding.
What should I do with my gown when I collect it?
Keep your gown in a dry and dark place. Two days before the wedding hang the dress high up so that it doesn’t touch the floor. Just the day before the wedding take a handheld steamer and steam your gown already for the big day.
TRAVELLING WITH THE BRIDAL GOWN
How should I pack my gown if I have planned a destination wedding or I am travelling abroad?
For destination wedding we recommend you carry the gown with you in a waterproof garment bag provided by the showroom. When you are in the cabin, ask the hostess to keep the gown in a safe corner. We would never recommend you to carry your gown in luggage.
